Chapter 401 - 338: Word of Law
Chapter 401 - 338: Word of Law
"I do have a question for you. I believe your name is 9000," Ragna stated, staring at the 9000 floating before them, completely unscathed, her clothes drifting gently around her.
"Well... she looks exactly like Aurianna. It’s crazy," Batholem muttered, eyes narrowing in disbelief.
"Why is there a servant of the Black Gemaris here? 1 never informed me of this," Ragna continued coldly, her gaze never leaving 9000.
"Maybe this is the reason he said we shouldn’t attack her until we fully understand everything about her," Ragna muttered under her breath.
"Hey, are you listening?!" Ragna suddenly yelled.
"Of course I am. Do I look deaf to you?" 9000 replied, her expression twisted with irritation.
"Alright then. How strong is the strongest of you all?" Ragna asked.
’She’s seriously not going to answer, right??’ Jugi thought as he stared between the two of them.
"Kiana, can you understand them?" Juvin asked, turning toward her anxiously.
"Yes, I can," Kiana replied. "Seems like you all can’t, but basically... she’s an enemy coming to kill us!! And we might probably die here today, just know that I love you all!" she shouted, tears welling up in her eyes.
"The strongest of us all is obviously 1," 9000 finally stated, an arrogant smile spreading across her face. "And my rank within the 30 Goddess Alliance is rank 15. That’s pretty impressive. I could squash this entire continent if I wanted to."
"Now then, I’m done playing," 9000 said as she floated higher into the sky.
With a simple snap of her fingers, thousands upon thousands of massive white magic circles lined the sky, stretching across the entirety of the Desire Continent.
____
In the Promised Land of Rumire, within the Desire Continent, the Saintess of Lust, Amazir, stared up at the sky. She had just finished killing a massive lizard-like monster, standing atop a heap of corpses.
Amazir was a six-foot-tall woman with spiky purple hair and extremely revealing clothing. Her fair-skinned hands were covered in tattoos, while the rest of her body was protected by dark purple sky armor. In her hand rested a massive scythe still dripping with blood.
Earlier that day, the woman named Aurianna, whom Amazir had last seen at the World Summit, had appeared across the entire continent, her face displayed on a screen everywhere similar to the meimus they use. However, Amazir immediately noticed something was wrong.
They clearly weren’t the same person.
Though they shared the same face, everything else was different. The Aurianna from the summit had white skin, while the one being displayed now possessed beautiful caramel-brown skin. Even their expressions were nothing alike.
From just seeing her skin alone, Amazir’s suspicions were confirmed.
And when the two of them the dragon and aloof Aurianna, appeared... it was a disaster.
567 arrived in her dragon form, scorching the land as she flew, fire raining down everywhere she passed. 9000 simply watched.
When 9000’s face was displayed across the skies, she looked down at the mortals coldly.
"Five days. That’s all you mortals have," she declared. "Then you will meet your extinction. As we speak, the entire world is being ravaged, and once we’re done, none of you will be left alive."
She ended her declaration with a cold smirk.
Sensing their location, Saintess Amazir teleported toward them, hoping to understand what was happening, and if possible, kill them.
However, the moment she entered a one-kilometer range of the two, her entire body refused to move.
Every hair on her body screamed for her to run. And to run fast.
The beings before her were beings she could never hope to kill.
Trusting her instincts, instincts that had never failed her, Amazir fled.
Cowardly? So what?
Why die a useless death when she could stay alive and save others?
By the time she returned to the Promised Land, she was heaving, sweat pouring down her face.
She reappeared inside a massive hall filled with officials frantically arguing. Panic filled the air. But the moment they saw Amazir’s terrified expression, the hall fell silent.
One burly man finally stepped forward.
"Saintess Amazir! Monsters are attacking all the towns! We’ve received reports of lizard-like monsters flooding the entire continent!" he shouted, his purple robes trembling as he stared up at her.
It was the first time in his life he had seen such fear on Amazir’s face.
"All holy knights are to be teleported to whatever towns we can reach. Defend the people of this land," Amazir ordered sharply.
"Amazir... the girls we saw on that screen. Who are they?" one official asked.
"I have no idea," she replied. "But no matter what, no one must engage with them. The apostles must never engage. Run. No matter what, run."
"How strong are they?" another official asked, fear creeping into his voice.
"Equivalent to, or even stronger than, the gods of this world," Amazir answered, biting her lip.
"All we can do is hope that they leave," she whispered, clenching her palm.
Suddenly, a massive pressure descended upon the entire continent. Those who couldn’t withstand it collapsed instantly.
Fear spread everywhere.
’This is the end,’ Amazir thought as she trembled.
But then, just as suddenly, the pressure vanished.
Confused, Amazir teleported into the sky, only to find that the two women who had brought terror to the continent... were gone.
Relief washed over her, mixed with unease. Her land had been spared, for now.
All that remained were the monsters.
______
Now, in the present, Amazir stood alongside the apostles of the Goddess of Lust and the Sacred, all of them staring up at the sky in horror.
Countless white magic circles floated above them.
The sheer amount of condensed magic within them made one thing clear.
It was going to be a magic blast.
Aurianna, witnessing this, stopped fighting 567 entirely.
"My, 9000 is super bored now. This continent is going to go bye-bye!!" 567 laughed happily.
"This is so annoying," Aurianna muttered. "Ruigo, do you have any spell to defend against this?"
"Sorry, Master," Ruigo replied. "With such a high-level spell, any defensive magic I cast would be useless."
’Dammit... do I really need to resort to that?’ Aurianna thought, biting her lip.
"Word of Law," Ragna stated calmly. "Any Aurianna, the White Gemaris, or goddess that attacks the people of this world from now on shall either be trapped in an endless void prison, or drop dead."
All Auriannas across the world heard it, their expressions immediately turning grim.
"Why... why do you have that wench’s power?!" 9000 roared, her voice booming with fury.
"If your attack lands, you lose. So choose wisely," Ragna replied arrogantly.
9000 trembled with rage.
This was the exact power that had wiped out her entire universe.
She remembered Iris’s voice.
"Drop dead."
In an instant, everyone around her had begun to die. All the being’s life force she could sense with her powers begun to go off before she could process what’s was happening.
Sensing Iris, 9000 had immediately hide herself in alternate space.
That was how she survived.
"It’s obviously a gift from my gracious master," Ragna continued mockingly. "Too bad a weakling like yourself couldn’t face my master. You’re a cowardly bitch. And after attacking Lady Aurianna and seeing how weak she was, your sense of superiority only grew."
"Yes, your 30 Goddess Alliance may be powerful. But as long as I’m here, everything is ruined!" Ragna smiled.
’And even if I wasn’t here... she would’ve handled it herself,’ she thought nervously.
"Oh yes," Ragna added. "The counter to the Word of Law. The only person you may attack is Aurianna. Once you kill her, my power will no longer affect you. And for one week, Aurianna’s power shall be equivalent to a Rank 5 in your group."
As she spoke, bright purplish-red blood streamed from her eyes and mouth.
"Do you think your power scares me?! I’ll kill you!" 9000 screamed, charging forward,
Only for her body to freeze midair.
Chains upon chains erupted, binding her completely.
Suddenly, a massive head emerged from the clouds.
Six eyes opened, staring directly at 9000.
It was so enormous that at that very moment, everyone in the world, still fighting monsters, looked up as a massive black, space-like head that filled the skies
