Chapter 118. Angeline
Chapter 118. Angeline
Riki caught the scent of the roses he’d brought for Liz. He’d bought a beautiful bouquet of pink roses for Liz because there happened to be a flower shop right in front of the apartment building where Liz and her bandmates lived.
As Riki stepped out of the elevator, he saw Angeline walking toward him. Judging by her appearance, Angeline seemed to be in a hurry to get to an appointment.
From what Riki had heard, Angeline was far busier than the other members. Many brands—whether clothing, perfume, makeup, or skincare—were courting Angeline for collaborations. Meanwhile, the other members were mostly busy with rehearsals, honing their skills, or music-related events.
As for Selena, she was often invited to variety shows because of her cheerful personality. Liz, on the other hand, was mostly busy recording OSTs or soundtracks for movies or dramas.
As for Keira... the fairy loves food, so she has her own show where she reviews food. Sometimes she also creates content with other group members like Selene, Angeline, and Liz. However, she mostly does it alone or invites famous guests.
Surprisingly, this food show has attracted new fans to the idol group.
"Riki? Oh—you’re going out with Liz, right? She’s been making a fuss since earlier because she’s going out with you; I hope your date goes well," said Angeline. She gave Riki a wide smile, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Yeah, that’s right. Are you going out this morning yourself?" asked Riki.
Angeline nodded and leaned closer to Riki, saying,
"That’s right. Even though it’s supposed to be a vacation, my schedule is still packed. I got an invitation to attend Fashion Week from one of the brands. Oh, wait a minute, Riki—your clothes are a bit dirty. Excuse me."
Suddenly, Angeline leaned in and tapped the shoulder area of the clothes Riki was wearing, brushing off the dust clinging there. After finishing, she stepped back.
"It’s clean now. I’m leaving first, Riki. See you later."
"Okay, thanks, Angel."
Angeline stepped into the elevator, giving Riki a quick wave.
Riki couldn’t help but smile as he watched Angeline. It wasn’t because he liked the girl—well, Riki did like her, but not in a romantic way. It was just that, seeing Angeline, the girl radiated a positive aura. Angeline was the hardworking and diligent type; even the members of her group had become diligent about taking care of themselves thanks to Angeline.
She really was the perfect type of girl.
Unfortunately, a girl like that—why did she still like Riki?
Riki knew everything, because Keira occasionally turned into a little fairy, flying around Riki just to tell him trivial information about Angela and Liz. That both of them were falling for Riki, but Liz didn’t know anything yet about Angeline’s feelings. Angeline was hiding her feelings; she only dared to tell Keira.
Besides liking Riki, Angeline cared more about Liz, her best friend. Because of that, Angeline works hard and takes good care of herself, because she wants to forget her negative thoughts.
As an ordinary girl, Angeline was once jealous of Liz for getting Riki’s attention. She also regrets giving up on Riki so easily back then.
When he recalls everything Keira said, Riki feels uneasy. But he has to be firm, because love cannot be forced. If Riki forced things with Angeline, Angeline herself would end up getting hurt.
Riki turned away from staring at the elevator that had already closed.
And he was surprised to see Liz standing right in front of her apartment door.
Riki didn’t know if Liz had seen his interaction with Angeline or not, but one thing was certain: Liz walked quickly toward Riki as soon as he realized she was there.
"Riki! I’m ready—are those roses for me?"
"They’re for you; they’re as beautiful as you are, right?" Liz, with a wide smile, accepted the bouquet and inhaled its fragrant scent.
"They’re so beautiful—can I go back to my room to display them there?"
Riki nodded, "Sure, I’ll wait here."
Liz returned to her apartment and placed the bouquet on the living room table. She thought she’d move it later after she got back from her walk with Riki.
But her smile suddenly faded as she recalled the interaction between Riki and Angeline.
"Does Angel still like Riki, I wonder? Ugh, I shouldn’t think negatively. It was Angeline herself who let me get close to Riki after they broke up, right?" Liz muttered.
After trying to calm herself and think positively, Liz turned back to Riki. She flashed a sweet smile, pretending there was nothing bad on her mind.
That day, Riki invited Liz to go to a beautiful and peaceful place. They did go out of town, but the destination wasn’t too far from the big city.
Their destination was a vast area called Bumi Permai. There was a restaurant famous for its seafood and lamb dishes, a campground, a large lake known for its swans, and a resort for those who wanted to stay overnight.
At that place, there were also mountains right behind the resort, which were often visited by tourists. On top of the mountains, there were also small cafes that were always bustling with tourists.
Since it was a weekday, the place was quite quiet. There were only a handful of tourists, most of whom were from other countries.
"Do you want to stay at the resort? There’s the most expensive unit—they say the view from there is amazing. Want to try it?" Riki asked.
Liz nodded quickly, "Sure, because I’m not sure about camping here."
"Camping is fine too, it’s just a bit of a hassle," Riki replied.
After that, Riki booked the resort; he also ordered food for them to be delivered to the resort.
The beautiful setting with the gentle breeze made them both feel at home quickly.
Even though they hadn’t gone for a walk around the area yet—just staying at the resort—they could see almost all the scenery from their resort.
When the food arrived right at lunchtime, Riki received a message from Jake about work. So he excused himself to call Jake for a moment. Liz just smiled and nodded at that. While waiting for Riki, Liz stood up from her seat, looked around at the scenery, and at that moment she saw someone she recognized very well.
"Angeline? Who’s she with?" Liz muttered.
The girl reached for her phone, which she’d placed on the table, and sent a message to Angeline, asking where she was.
Angeline, unaware of Liz’s presence, was replying to Liz. She said she was working on a perfume photoshoot.
"Didn’t Angeline say this morning that she was going to Fashion Week?" Liz muttered again.
Liz asked again where Angeline’s photoshoot was taking place, but Angeline didn’t reply, even though she’d seen Liz’s latest message.
"Why am I so worried? Who’s the guy with Angeline?" Liz muttered again.
"Liz, let’s eat. What are you doing here? I’m starving." Riki was already behind Liz, startling her.
"Oh, Riki... that—"
"What are you looking at?"
Liz hurriedly pulled Riki back into their resort.
"Nothing. I’m hungry too. Let’s eat and then go for a walk; I want to go to the mountains."
"Oh, sure, but let’s wait until later in the afternoon—it’s too hot out here in the middle of the day."
"Alright then."
