Chapter 2099, Section 2.97: The Overlord of C Island
The two newly joined sisters were sent into the 3D-printed capsule, beginning a simplified onboarding process. Captain Nine-Tailed glanced at the time; the sun was about to set on the second day.
As is customary, there is only one day left in the three-day newbie protection period.
These past two days have been busy, with people coming and going. In Wu Chen's words, he has initially gained a foothold.
Three important settlements (safe zones) were discovered: the Dragon Nest, the Alien Pyramid, and Laboratory 07. This led to the development of several branching storylines.
There is also a hidden underground dinosaur hatchery belonging to Dr. Henry Wu, whose exact coordinates are unknown.
In preparation for the upcoming story battle, the remaining third day will be dedicated to perfecting the pyramid's defenses, with the defensive forces led by Captain Nine-Tails at the helm.
The first priority is to restore the old as it was.
Using "local consumable containers," the container walls piled up along the outer corridor edge were transformed into "fully automated containerized body defense turrets." All these fully automated turrets could be controlled via "nano-neuronal subcutaneous interfaces" and "sub-links" within the Cybertronian Vortex Fox's "superbrain region chain," specifically for the combat armor AI. They wove a crossfire network based on the strength of incoming enemies, achieving the most efficient area-of-effect destruction. Compared to other participating players, Wu Chen's unique Ω-shaped net was his greatest advantage.
Just as the scimitar instinct tells it, Captain Nine-Tails is never fighting alone.
This is the significance of the Internet.
"Young Miss, aren't you planning to head to the next settlement?" The Nine-Tailed Captain, busy with his work, passed by the raptor caravan camped in the lower safe zone. The raptors, each over 7 meters long, were lying around the young lady, looking energetic and unaffected by the confinement.
"Ah, business is just starting to pick up. Leaving now is obviously not a good idea." The young lady was quite satisfied with the Nine-Tails Captain's work: "Besides, if I want to go to the next settlement, I need to collect enough 'hairy eggs'. Especially considering that the ones at this settlement have been wasted."
"Heh, it was all an accident." Captain Nine-Tailed hadn't expected that the entire group of Dilophosaurus that had been slaughtered was actually a tacitly agreed-upon free "resource spot" right on their doorstep. If she had known earlier, she wouldn't have needed to go to Laboratory 07 to trade for Fire Raptors. She could have easily formed a local cavalry regiment by simply capturing and taming the Dilophosaurus right on her doorstep.
Of course, eliminating the free "resource point" right outside her door has both positive and negative impacts on the storyline. At the very least, the young lady, as an NPC traveling merchant, will have to stay longer. Only after completing this plot-driven battle and collecting enough alien dragon eggs can she comfortably continue her journey.
"Be careful of the Deformed King Dragon. She's the ruler of C Island." The young lady gave away another key piece of plot information for free.
"D-Rex" is short for Tyrannosaurus Rex, a genetically modified dinosaur that appears in *Jurassic World: Rebirth*. It was bred by the international genetic technology company InGen in a secret laboratory on San Hubert Island. Its name, meaning "twisted" in Latin, highlights its unnatural deformity. D-Rex was enormous, approximately 14 meters long, 9 meters tall, and weighing up to 10 tons. It was the first dinosaur in the Jurassic series to possess six limbs, including a pair of powerful hind legs and two pairs of forelimbs (a pair of large forearms and a pair of small forelimbs), enabling it to crawl on all fours and nimbly grasp prey. Its head was twisted, its teeth sharp, and its skin grayish-yellow, a blend of features from crocodiles and monitor lizards. This monster's creation stemmed from an experimental accident. During an attempt to genetically modify a Tyrannosaurus Rex, InGen accidentally introduced an unknown DNA fragment, causing severe developmental abnormalities. Its version number, 23-111, indicates that several failed strains existed prior to this. In 2010, a containment incident triggered by candy packaging allowed it to escape the laboratory and hide in the jungle, where it attacked helicopters and preyed on researchers. This led to the abandonment of the entire St. Hubert Island base.
"Her?" Captain Nine-Tails pointed out the key information.
“Yes. The C Island Overlord, the Deformed King Dragon, is a female dragon.” The young lady nodded gently. “Moreover, for some unknown reason, her alien genes made her increasingly powerful. Legend has it that she even surpassed ‘that escaped alien queen’.”
"I see." Captain Nine-Tailed keenly grasped the key plot information in that sentence. Perhaps the Alien Queen is no longer a trace within that Iron Blood Trial Pyramid. Then the question arises: "Who has occupied that Alien Pyramid now?" "I heard it's a very powerful expedition team." The young lady genuinely didn't know. Speaking of which, free information is bound to be inaccurate, you know.
"So they are the most powerful force on Island A, right?" Captain Nine-Tailed continued to press.
"Whether it's the most powerful, I'm not sure." The young lady didn't explicitly object, "But to be able to establish a foothold on Island A, one must have extraordinary abilities."
"Yes, Miss." Captain Nine-Tails had already gathered enough information: "Have a good time."
"I wish you all the best, Captain," the young lady said with a smile.
Watching the Nine-Tailed Captain disappear behind the shipping containers being transported away, the young lady smiled and reached out her hand. The most adorable mad raptor placed a glittering "healing needle" into her palm.
"Ah, we found another one." The young lady was clearly very satisfied: "That red-eyed guest is in for a treat today."
From a faction perspective, the survivors of the entire pyramid camp shouldn't be hostile to each other. This is because, according to the rules, they already possess a Dragon Ball. Furthermore, it's important to note that the entire storyline unfolding from the first to the second tower represents a collective advancement for the faction. And according to established rules, all survivors who ascend from the first level of the Fulong Temple Tower should be guardians of this four-star exclusive territory.
As the last remaining vampire still free to roam, Rachel is nocturnal, transforming into a vampire bat to search the ruins surrounding the camp. She seeks out any portable and valuable relics to exchange for the dwindling supply of "healing needles."
In fact, Rachel is not the only surviving vampire.
During the final "Sunrise Crisis," Wu Chen had the Extinction Team feed each of the 13 vampire maids who had fainted during the ritual a seed capsule and move them into hibernation jars in the three-story drug laboratory. The reason he didn't detonate the seed capsules immediately was because Wu Chen felt there were still hidden storylines surrounding the 13 vampire maids that weren't yet resolved.
Meanwhile, Rachel, the last vampire to roam freely, has been secretly searching for the 13 vampire maidens who disappeared after the "Sun of the Underworld Crisis" and the Aztec goddess of death, "Queen of the Underworld," Miktikashiva.
She guessed that the most likely place would be the drug laboratory on the third floor of the pyramid or the frozen human blood bank on the fourth floor.
But she had absolutely no idea where it was.
As for the "Jungle Nightclub," which had already reopened, she didn't dare to venture in rashly because of the presence of Curved Blade, who was on duty all day. After all, as the captain of the "Butcher's Suicide Squad," Curved Blade's formidable strength was something ordinary vampires couldn't possibly contend with head-on. Going there now would be tantamount to suicide.
Looking up at the pyramid's summit illuminated by neon signs, Rachel wrapped herself tightly in a black robe and entered the lower-level survivor camp. She needed to recover her strength as quickly as possible to be able to fight.
